# Villas at Blue Mountain — response to Jennifer's 9 requests

Worked directly on the live site (villasatbluemountain.com), 2026-09-09.
All Elementor page data was backed up first: `notes/backups/vbm-elementor-backup-20260909-230016.json`.

## 1 & 2. Dropdown
The Vacation Villa Rentals dropdown now reads:

> Home · Forget-Me-Not · Serenità · **Azure Villa** · Villa Blue Ocean ·
> Services & Amenities · Location · Beach Grotto · About Us

Azure sits directly above Villa Blue Ocean. The same order was applied to the mobile
menu so the two stay in step.

## 3. Hero scroll arrow
A chevron sits at the bottom of the hero video and scrolls down to the "Welcome to Villas
At Blue Mountain" block. It is styled to match the framed-square arrow used elsewhere on
the site — site cream (#D7CEC2), thin border, grows slightly on hover.

One note: the site's existing arrow uses a custom icon font that is not loaded on the home
page, so it would have rendered as an empty box there. This one uses Font Awesome, which
the home page already loads, so the shape is near-identical but it actually appears.

## 4. Location map
The black-and-white map that turns to colour on hover, plus the "View on Google Map"
button, are now on **https://villasatbluemountain.com/location/** — the page the Location
menu item points to — between the intro and "Getting Here". The button is centred rather
than full-width to suit the narrower column.

**Question:** "move the google maps link" could mean move it off the Real Estate page, or
just add it to Location. I copied both and left Real Estate untouched — removing content
from a page you did not ask to change felt like the riskier read. Say the word and I will
strip them from Real Estate.

There is also an older page at `/destination-turks-and-caicos-islands/` which is not in the
navigation and did not get the map. If that page is still meant to be in use, tell me and
I will add it there too — or retire it.

## 5. Logos
All three are placed above their headings on About Us, centred. Widths are set individually
(Bespoke 200px, Hartling 330px, RAD 145px) because the three files have very different
proportions — matching widths would have made Hartling tower over RAD. As set they read at
a similar optical size.

## 6. Gallery rename
`/photo-gallery/` is now `/beach-gallery/`, titled "Beach Gallery", and the link from the
Beach Grotto page follows it. 839 references across the site were updated, so nothing
should point at the old address.

## 7. New photo gallery page
Live at `/photo-gallery/` with six empty gallery sections ready to fill:
Azure Villa · Forget-Me-Not · Serenità · Villa Blue Ocean · The Beach · Turks & Caicos.
Each is a standard Elementor gallery widget matching the one on the Beach Gallery page —
open the page in Elementor, click a gallery, add images.

**Not yet in the navigation.** An empty page in the menu seemed worse than none. Tell me
when it has images and I will add it.

## 8. White space
Cut the top and bottom padding on every full-width section by 40%, across all pages — 110
values on 13 pages. A 90px gap is now 54px, 80px is 48px, and so on. Small deliberate
offsets under 20px were left alone, and left/right padding was not touched since that is
page layout rather than white space.

Most visible on About Us, Location, Beach Grotto, Services & Amenities and Contact Us,
which had the largest gaps. The villa pages tightened proportionally.

Deliberately one uniform number so it is easy to change: if it is still too airy I will
take more, and if anywhere now feels cramped, name the page and I will put that one back.

## 9. Book Now — Karen's concern

Yes, the per-villa links were deliberate. Each villa's Book Now goes to the booking engine
pre-filtered to that villa (`level=room&room=BMAZR5A` for Azure, and so on), so a guest
reading about Azure lands on Azure rather than a list of four.

**The question is still open, and it needs one quick look.** The reassuring test — opening
the booking engine and seeing all four villas listed as you scroll — was done on a
**`level=hotel`** link, which is the *unfiltered* view. That URL does not appear anywhere
on villasatbluemountain.com; our four buttons are the only booking links on the whole site
and they all use **`level=room`**. So that test showed the unfiltered view behaves well,
but it did not exercise our links.

**The 30-second check:** open a villa page on our site, click its Book Now, and scroll the
resulting page.

- **If the other three villas are listed** — Karen's concern is unfounded and nothing needs
  to change.
- **If only that villa is shown** — then it is worth a second look at what a guest sees
  when the dates are unavailable.

(I could not test this from here: the booking engine sits behind bot protection that blocks
automated requests, and working around that is not something I will do.)

**If it does turn out to matter**, the cheap fix is a small text link under each Book Now —
*"Or check availability across all four villas"* — pointing at the booking engine without
the room filter. That keeps the conversion path and gives a sold-out guest somewhere to go.
Ten-minute change; I have not made it because it adds something visible to four pages.

**Worth asking Bespoke either way:** most booking engines can be configured to show
alternative availability when the filtered room is unavailable, rather than a bare "no
rooms" message. If SynXis can do that for this property, that is the better fix.

## One loose end
There is an empty Elementor draft, "Elementor Page #4333", created 2026-09-05. It is not
mine and not published, so I left it alone — worth deleting if it was a mis-click.
