League & Williams
Website Quote

---

Aug 2026

# **Objective**

Rebuild the League & Williams website on a current WordPress platform: the same firm people recognize, modernized underneath. The backend comes up to today's standards for performance, security, and ease of editing, and the site gets structured so AI search can read and cite it properly. Timed to the move and your new photography, so the new site launches with both.

# **Why Now**

We had a proper look under the hood before pricing. The site has served the firm well for over a decade and still looks fine to a visitor, but underneath, a few things make this the right moment:

* **The site is telling AI the wrong address.** The structured data that search engines and AI tools read still lists the old Wilson Street office. Until that's fixed, tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google's AI results are being told League & Williams is somewhere it isn't.
* **It undersells the firm.** That same data describes you only as a "personal injury attorney in Victoria", with nothing about estates, marine, business, or real estate, and nothing about the other five cities you serve.
* **Your biggest asset is invisible to AI.** You've published 427 articles since 2014, written by your own lawyers. That's a library most firms can't touch, but none of it is structurally credited to the lawyers who wrote it, so it builds far less authority than it should, in exactly the systems where authority now decides who gets recommended.
* **The platform is aging out.** The underlying theme framework hasn't had a major update in over six years and has started throwing compatibility warnings on modern PHP. The homepage loads roughly 50 separate script files, and a decade of accumulated plugins needs consolidating. None of this is visible to visitors yet. The time to rebuild is before it is.

What doesn't need to change: your hosting is solid and stays put, your content and rankings carry over, and the brand people know stays the brand.

# **The Options**

### Option 1: Backend Rebuild + Polish

We stay faithful to the current design and layout, polishing a handful of obvious things along the way (typography, spacing, image treatment, with selections at our discretion and no design phase). Front-end changes are mostly content: new and departed lawyers, updated bios and page content, your new photography. You provide all change requests upfront in a single consolidated list.

### Option 2: Design Modernization

Everything in Option 1, plus a modernized take on your current design. This is not a redesign. The site keeps the layout logic, brand conventions, and orange highlights people already associate with the firm; we bring the presentation up to current standards in typography, spacing, imagery, and how it all feels on modern screens. You'll receive mockups of the home page and a set of other key pages for your feedback and sign-off **before** the rebuild starts, so you see exactly where it's headed. Includes one comprehensive round of design feedback.

### Included with both options

- [ ] Current WordPress with the Gutenberg block editor and a modern premium theme framework, with an unlimited lifetime premium licence included
- [ ] Fully responsive on all common device sizes
- [ ] No hard-coded content and no page-builder lock-in: anyone in the office can edit any page, and publishing a new article is a five-minute job
- [ ] Full content migration: 427 articles (back to 2014), all pages, lawyer profiles, testimonials, and 1,400+ media files
- [ ] All six location pages (Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Duncan, Campbell River) carried over and properly structured
- [ ] Contact and intake forms rebuilt on current, supported tooling
- [ ] Baseline SEO / AI crawlability: clean heading structure, XML sitemap, corrected firm schema (including the new address), and redirects so existing rankings carry over
- [ ] Performance pass: script cleanup, image optimization, and a before/after Core Web Vitals check
- [ ] Security cleanup: a small, current, supported plugin set replacing the accumulated legacy stack
- [ ] Built on a private staging copy, so the live site stays untouched until you approve the switch
- [ ] Launch on your current hosting, a training session, and 30 days of post-launch support

### Add-On: AI Search Optimization *(recommended)*

By default, the rebuilt site conforms to current best practices for search-engine and AI crawlability. This add-on goes further, making the firm and each individual lawyer a recognizable entity that AI tools can identify, understand, and cite:

- [ ] **Firm-wide schema**: organizational information, services and practice areas, content types, FAQs, and all six locations
- [ ] **Authority profiles for every lawyer**: credentials, education, and areas of expertise. We research and apply the baseline information for your whole team; you review and finalize before launch.
- [ ] **Authorship tagging** connecting each lawyer to the articles they've written, across the full 427-post library, so twelve years of writing finally accrues to the people who wrote it
- [ ] **A content marketing framework** tying specific lawyers to specific topics going forward, building each lawyer's authority across a diverse range of subjects

This is particularly valuable in legal, where AI answers lean heavily on who wrote the content. It's by no means the limit of what can be done for SEO/AI optimization, but it gives you a strongly upgraded baseline to work from.

# **Timelines**

### Start Date

We are holding a project intake slot for **September 1, 2026**.

**This start date is pending availability at the time of acceptance and prompt attention to a 50% deposit invoice.**

Our capacity is limited and we may need to prioritize projects in the order they were approved, so available start dates are subject to change. If we're able to start earlier, we'll do our best to work ahead of schedule.

### Completion Time

**5 weeks** from the start date for Option 1, **6 weeks** for Option 2 (the extra week covers the mockup and sign-off round). Either way, launch lands right as your new photography wraps up. The build never waits on the photographer: we build with current images and swap in the new set before launch.

# **Things to Confirm**

None of these change the price. They're items to settle in week one.

**The roster.** Who should appear on the team page (additions and departures), so the bios, the photography, and (if taken) the AI authority work all match.

**Your change list (Option 1).** A single consolidated list of content changes, provided upfront.

**Publishing during the build.** If your team publishes new articles while we build, just let us know so we sync everything before launch.

# **Additional Terms**

The following are our standard terms for website projects and may not all be applicable to this specific project.

**Scope Confirmation.** The proposed approach and costs are preliminary and subject to adjustment should the scope change.

**Scope Changes.** We understand that it is often impossible to foresee and confirm every detail related to scope, so we expect that there may be some small changes as we move forward. However, if there are changes that significantly impact the amount of work required, we may need to compensate by limiting scope in other areas or adjusting the quote. We will discuss the options if this comes up.

**Start Dates.** We aim to start work as soon as possible, but for consistent planning we generally officially start new projects on the 1st and 15th of the month and require your clear approval at least 1 week prior to the official start date. Any deposits must be paid before the target start date to avoid the potential need to push the start into the next available start date.

**Deposit and Payments.** Official work on the project will not begin until the initial deposit payment is received. The final invoice will be issued at time of material completion of the website.

**Material Completion.** If the majority of the website is completed but awaiting content or other final detail, the site will be considered completed and will be launched as soon as we receive the final details required to do so.

**Delays.** If the project is on hold for a lengthy period due to client-side factors, there may be restart fees.

**Content Freeze.** In cases where we are migrating content from an existing website to another, we ask that clients let us know if they are concurrently updating content on their live site while we are building the new site so we can make appropriate plans to sync the content on launch. By default, we assume that there is no need to sync content before launch unless this issue specifically comes up during the staging process. There may be extra fees related to syncing content after the new site is launched.

**Content.** While we will advise on best practices, you are responsible for writing all original content and providing suitable images except in areas specifically written into the scope. Where it's reasonable to do so, we will gather content from your existing website. In places where new content is required, we will insert placeholder content which can be easily replaced by you or by us through a single comprehensive content document.

**Training.** We will provide basic guidance on features within the scope of this project so that you will be able to manage the day-to-day functionality. Full training in advanced WordPress features or template design is not included.

**Launch.** We will handle the launch of everything we've built on your current hosting environment.

**Support.** We will include support for bugs or content management training related to features developed in the scope of this project for a period of 30 days after material completion. Changes or new features that were not outlined in the original scope can be done as part of a future engagement or maintenance package.

**Future Maintenance.** We build our sites so that they can be completely maintained by the site owner. However, we can provide ongoing services which include basic web maintenance, or we can offer small maintenance packages.
