Business law the way it should be
Equinox Business Law Group grew from an idea: business law the way it should be. Law that works for the business owner through value, knowledge, and strategy, so they can make smart decisions for their company. That requires a lawyer who understands business and entrepreneurship, and who appreciates the balance of risk and reward for the business as well as the personal, emotional and financial risk for the owner.
We began in 2004 as Small Business Legal Services, a firm focused on eliminating the barriers businesses feel when they need a lawyer. High costs, added complexity, long turnaround times and counsel that did not feel like value were the starting point for changing how legal works for businesses. We started with flat-fee pricing, complimentary consultations and meaningful check-ins, so the conversation between lawyer and owner became frequent and in depth.
Over time that collaborative approach created value, ease and confidence inside our clients' businesses. We launched General Counsel Solutions, and relaunched under a new brand: Equinox Business Law Group. The equinox is the balancing of light and darkness, when both hemispheres are equally illuminated. Our clients look to our team to balance the risks and the opportunities they face, and we use that idea to guide the solutions we offer and the way we build our team.
