The footer — five layouts

Five footers. The newsletter is a horizontal band at the top of the footer on every board — it is the only interactive thing the footer has, and in the live site's four-column layout it is buried in a link column. What changes between boards is the band's ground, and what the footer body does underneath it.

Phone and email carry icons on all five. They are the only two lines in the footer a visitor might act on immediately, and in a column of same-sized text they currently look like two more links.

No skewed or angled edges anywhere (Adi, 2026-09-04). Every edge on this page is square and the footer keeps it that way. Boards 3 and 4 still test whether the footer carries an image at all — the question underneath is that the closing section directly above already has one, so a footer image stacks two photographs with only the newsletter between them. Boards 1, 2 and 5 have no image.

The content is the live site's real footer, not invented. Recovered from the saved page source: the subscribe form and its consent line, phone, email, the Explore column, Community Involvement, the four legal links, and three third-party credentials the live footer already carries but that no project document had recorded. Client cuts are applied — the two social networks cut on 2026-08-27 are gone (LinkedIn and YouTube only), and so are EO Portland and Women in Finance.

The boards carry no placeholder badges — they are meant to be read as finished footers. Four things in them are still unconfirmed, and are recorded here rather than on the artwork: the logo is the Brand Kit raster, vector files still to be requested; there is no street address and whether a public office address exists is unconfirmed, so the Contact column shows phone and email only; the entity name on the copyright line is a working assumption; and the newsletter heading and subhead are the only invented copy on the sheet — the live footer’s own wording was not recovered, and that copy is AISV’s.

1Four columns, newsletter on NIGHT aboveThe live footer's own structure, cleaned, with the subscribe form lifted out of the link column into a band of its own. The band is NIGHT and the body is the deeper navy, so the two read as two things without introducing a new colour. Safest of the five and the least work to build. Its weakness is the same as the live footer's: four columns of equal-weight text, and the credentials have nowhere to sit except a row at the bottom.

2Gold band, three columns, credentials given a rowThe newsletter band in CONFIDENCE with dark text. It is the one element in the footer anyone is meant to act on, and gold is the page's action colour — every other button on the site is this colour, so it is consistent rather than decorative. Underneath, links compress to three columns and the three third-party credentials get their own row above the legal bar, which is the only place on the page where someone else's word about the firm appears.

3Image band above the newsletterA shallow full-width image strip sitting between the closing section and the newsletter, square edges. It gives the bottom of the page a horizon before the link grid, and it is the only board where the image is the full width of the site. The cost is real and is the thing to judge: the closing section directly above already carries an image, so this stacks two photographs with only a form between them, and it adds a second asset to source when the first one is not chosen yet.

4The image sits inside the newsletter bandOne band instead of two: the newsletter holds the image on its right, so the footer gains a picture without gaining a strip. It costs less height than board 3 and the image has a job — it belongs to the one thing in the footer a visitor is meant to act on. The risk is that a form beside a photograph is the most visually loaded thing down here, and the form is the part that has to work; the fields get narrower to make room.

5Credentials lead, newsletter on the warm groundThe newsletter band on LAW with dark text, then a footer that opens with the three third-party credentials at size before any navigation. Those are the only lines in the whole footer that someone other than the firm said about the firm, and in every other board they are a strip of small print at the bottom. The warm band also breaks up two dark bands stacking — the closing section runs straight into the footer otherwise, which is a live issue on the page now.
