# Initial rough estimate

Hi Keith,

I submitted a message on the Barnet website last week and they called today. The person I spoke with couldn't answer technical questions but he had some high-level info and said another team member would send more details. I have not received those details yet, but here's what I learned on the call:

1. You cannot integrate Google Merchant Center or Facebook Business Profile directly through their app.
2. BUT they do have an API and said it was possible to integrate the shop into WordPress through WooCommerce. Once things are in WooCommerce, we have more ability to integrate with the two platforms mentioned above.
3. It sounds like they typically handle the e-commerce store setup on the Barnet side. They have a $20/mo license fee to enable it and typically charge about $2000 for a setup. They said you could do it yourself (or we could), but honestly, it probably makes the most sense to let them do it because they know their platform inside out. We'd probably charge about the same, but since we'd have to learn their platform, I'd say it's smarter to let them handle that part.

With the above in mind, here are some estimates for the various options.

The website (with just simple linking to the completed ecommerce store): $4500

- Includes design mockups of 3-4 key pages based on your initial design input and one comprehensive round of feedback
- 10-12 pages
- Adapt content provided by your team into the design and populate all pages
- Utilize photos provided by your team and / or suitable stock/generated images to fill in gaps where you do not have photos available
- Incorporate calls to action linking to the Barnet Store (built by Barnet)
- Baseline SEO/AEO set up including well structured code, schema, FAQs, and optimized page meta
- Blogging capability
- Prominent loyalty signup call to action
- 2 1hr training sessions so you know how to manage and finalize edits to content
- (Optional) Set up up Google Analytics with key event tracking: $700
- (Optional) Dedicated mechanism for setting up and scheduling promotions which will go live and disappear automatically: $400

Email Platform Setup: $800

- Set up account with MailChimp
- Domain verification
- Migrate contacts from Wix
- Integrate Mailchimp with website
- Optional: Set up a branded email template with sample content: $500

Woocommerce + Barnet integration: $2500-3500

- Price range depends on how easy the API is to work with
- I'd need to verify once we get access to the API, but here's what this would acheive
  - store would be completely branded inside your website
  - products would all be browsable without leaving your site
  - users would only leave your site to checkout
  - could sync your inventory with google merchant center and facebook business
  - could likely collect customer emails from people who order online and port them directly into MailChimp

# Client Response to Rough Estimate

Hi Rob and Rian,

Thank you again for your revised proposal — we appreciated the clear pricing and the practical approach to the WooCommerce + Barnet integration.

I have an update that should help you firm up your numbers. I spoke with Barnet directly, and they have confirmed that developers connect to their platform via a published API. There is no need for discovery to determine whether integration is possible — the API path is confirmed.

Given that, I have a few questions before we make a final decision:

1. **WooCommerce + Barnet integration — fixed price:** Your revised proposal quoted $2,500–$3,500 depending on how easy the API is to work with. Now that API access is confirmed, can you provide a firm price, or at minimum a narrowed range? What would determine where within that range the final number lands?
2. **Integration scope confirmation:** Your proposal described a fully branded in-site store where products are browsable without leaving our site, with customers only leaving to check out through Barnet. Can you confirm this is still the approach, and that real-time inventory and pricing would sync directly from Barnet?
3. **Email and Mailchimp:** Can you confirm the $800 email setup includes migrating our existing contact list from Wix and integrating Mailchimp with the new website? We have approximately 1,400–1,500 contacts. We would also want to add the branded email template for the additional $500 — please confirm that is still available.
4. **Google Analytics:** We would like to include the optional Google Analytics setup with key event tracking at $700. Please confirm this is still in scope at that price.
5. **Timeline:** What is your estimated timeline from project kickoff to launch, assuming we supply all content promptly?

We are targeting a decision shortly and your proposal is competitive. A confirmed integration price would go a long way toward making the comparison straightforward.

Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you.

# Rian's Email with Proposal Attachment

Hi Keith,

Thanks for your reply. To clarify the integration, I spoke with Barnet directly on the phone and have since had two followup interactions. During my first call with them, I learned they have an API path, which is why I offered it as an option. However, although they confirmed it's possible, I haven't received the actual link to the API documentation or see a working example. I've requested this information in all my interactions, but have only received a "we'll get back to you" response thus far, so that's why I'm hesitant to commit to a price.

To provide you with a final proposal, I will assume that Barnet is correct and that a complete, relatively easy-to-use API exists. Since I haven't seen it, however, there is a risk that either a) the API turns out to be incomplete or b) it's not easy to access or use. Since that is beyond our control, I'll account for those risks and contingencies in the proposal's fine print. Please review it, but hopefully it's only a precaution.

With the above in mind, please see the attached PlusROI proposal.

# The Fine Print (General Idea)

If the api turns out to be incomplete or unreliable, we will discuss the limitations and options, but the default plan will be to revert to the Barnet-powered storefront. I recommend they engage Barnet directly to complete this part of the site. Barnet has quoted $1500 to build this plus monthly hosting fees. This will mean the merchant center and meta business integration will also not be possible, so we will remove those from the scope of the project. We will also charge a fair discovery fee for the work done up until the point where the API proved to be infeasible. The fee will be based on how far along we got in the API integration before it because clear that it was not completable. Of course we'll make all reasonable efforts to reduce the risk and postential wastage by proving out the API early on.

In addition, we've quoted based on the best case scenario where the API is easy to use and access. If we find that the API is difficult to work with or commuication and access has significant unforseen challenges, we will pause as early as possible to discuss potential extra costs and fees.

The quoted cost does not include the costs on Barnet's side for API access and payment processing
