Scientific Drawing

This drawing course offers an innovative interdisciplinary approach, integrating science as a theme and the subject of artistic study—while encouraging visual, literary, and critical thinking. It will offer a structured approach to scientific and observational drawing, bridging the gap for students who are both artistically inclined and also interested in biological and environmental subjects. Students will:

• Develop technical drawing skills and artistic expression
• Create original artworks based on scientific observation and inquiry
• Build visual communication skills using both traditional and digital media
• Analyze and interpret historical and contemporary scientific illustrations
• Reflect critically on the creative process through sketchbooks and critiques
