Vancouver Island Music Academy

Hosted on the pristine grounds of Brentwood College, the Vancouver Island Music Academy (VIMA) is a Program for Strings and Piano which strives to create the most immersive, supportive, and friendly musical environment for everyone who attends. Each student at VIMA learns how to be the most complete and versatile musician. During the highly intensive two-week Academy: Strings, Piano, Composition, and Conducting Private Lessons, Masterclasses, Chamber Music, Orchestra, Rhythm Bootcamp, and Bach Chorale training reflect the core musical studies. VIMA offers seminars in many diverse topics, such as scales/technique, and overcoming stage and performance anxiety. VIMA also hosts a Concerto Competition, where the winners receive the opportunity to perform with the VIMA Academy Orchestra.

VIMA is a place where lifelong friendships and connections are created and cultivated. Apart from the daily musical and recreational activities, our students, parents, faculty, and staff all share meals together and stay in residence houses on campus. With access to world-class facilities like the Arts Building and the Main Stage of the T. Gil Bunch Centre for the Performing Arts, along with the use of Bechstein and Steinway Grand Pianos, students at VIMA study and perform music in the most nurturing and idyllic settings.

Nike Soccer Camp

Our goal is to ensure that we create an environment that allows players to explore and take risks while feeling safe to make mistakes as we feel this is crucial to their development as young soccer players. Every day will involve small-sided games. We believe that playing smaller sided games (3v3, 4v4, 5v5) is best for young players’ development as it maximizes touches in a short time. The more time on the ball the better.
