The university counselling process becomes formalized at the end of Grade 10—when guidance begins on course selection for the Grade 11 year. In grades 11 and 12, individual Advisors work in tandem with our University Counselling Team to ensure that each student understands the many options available to them. Parents are involved throughout this process and are encouraged to participate in the development of the list of potential post-secondary choices.
There are also opportunities to travel and visit university campuses during the school year—typically over the fall midterm break in early November.
Members of the Graduating Class of 2026 plan to attend 57 different schools in five Canadian provinces, seven American states, and 11 countries.
Nearly 70% of them will remain in Canada to pursue their studies, 10% of them will matriculate to schools in the United States, and just over 20% will venture elsewhere around the globe.
Nearly 40% of them will pursue studies in the sciences; one-third in the arts, humanities, and social sciences; and almost one in five will go into business programs. The rest will enter studies in various fields, including fine arts, law, performing arts, medicine, architecture, and social work.
