<p>The <strong>Brentwood 100</strong> is the school's centenary mosaic — a wall of numbered tiles on the site, each one a memory or milestone from Brentwood's history. You manage the items under <code>Brentwood 100</code> in the left-hand menu. Items don't have a page of their own; they only appear inside the <strong>Brentwood 100 Grid</strong> block, wherever you've placed it.</p>

<p>Each item is one story: a title, a cover photo, a short piece of writing, and a few extra details — a badge number, a caption, and sometimes extra photos. How much of that actually shows on its mosaic tile depends on the <strong>tile style</strong> you choose for it (below).</p>

<p>Use a clear, good-quality photo for the cover. The site crops it automatically to fit the tile's shape, so it doesn't need to be an exact size.</p>

<p>The <strong>Tile style</strong> field in the Brentwood 100 Details box decides how much of the story shows on the mosaic itself:</p>

<p>Most items use <strong>Modal</strong> — it's the only style that shows the extra Gallery photos, and it keeps the grid uncluttered until someone clicks in. Use <strong>Inline</strong> when a story is short enough to read straight from the grid. Use <strong>Montage</strong> for a strong photo that doesn't need a pop-up — just remember its title and story text are never shown on the site, only the cover photo, badge and caption.</p>

<p>The <strong>Caption</strong> field is a short line of text over the bottom of Modal and Montage tiles — a subtitle for the photo. Inline tiles don't use it; they show the title and story text instead.</p>

<p>The <strong>Badge number</strong> is the small numbered tag shown on Modal and Montage tiles. It's the centenary numbering used for this project — currently 1 to 88, with a few numbers skipped, which is expected.</p>

<p>It's a label, not a position control — it doesn't decide where the tile sits in the mosaic. The grid shuffles into a fresh random order every time someone visits the page, so exact placement isn't something you set. Leave the field blank if an item doesn't need a number; the tile simply won't show one.</p>

<p>The <strong>Featured image</strong> is always the cover photo — the one shown on the tile itself. The <strong>Gallery images</strong> field in the Brentwood 100 Details box holds extra photos beyond that cover.</p>

<p>Extra photos only appear on <strong>Modal</strong> items, inside the pop-up — the Featured image shows first, followed by your Gallery photos in the order you arrange them. Inline and Montage tiles show the Featured image only; anything added to Gallery images won't appear on the site for those two styles.</p>

<p>The mosaic shuffles into a fresh random order every time someone visits the page — that's intentional, not a fault. Only published items appear; anything still in Draft stays out until you publish it.</p>

<p>Only <strong>published</strong> items appear in the mosaic. You have two options, depending on whether the change is permanent:</p>

<li><strong>It's gone for good</strong> — open the item and move it to <strong>Trash</strong>.</li>

<li><strong>Taking it out for now</strong> — open the item, switch its status from Published to <strong>Draft</strong> in the <strong>Status &amp; visibility</strong> panel, and click <strong>Update</strong>. It disappears from the mosaic until you publish it again.</li>

<p>Trashing an item removes it from the mosaic wherever the Brentwood 100 Grid block appears. If you might bring it back later, use Draft instead — the photo, gallery and story are all still there when you publish it again.</p>
