Marine Sciences from 2026 website description:

Immerse yourself in the wild beauty of the West Coast with our two-week marine biology camp hosted on the Brentwood College School waterfront. This program will take students beyond the classroom to complete hands-on scientific fieldwork. Students will explore Vancouver Island and its surrounding forest and ocean ecosystems with a visit to the old-growth Harris Creek Spruce forest and the tide pools in Port Renfrew. They will sea kayak the Saanich Inlet and snorkel in the rocky ecosystem at Whisky Point.

Through research in the field and the lab, students will conduct phytoplankton tows for microscope identification, perform water quality testing for salinity and pH, and explore the Cowichan estuary during low tide to dig for clams. The experience will bridge the gap between observation and understanding and culminate in a visit to the Salish Sea Aquarium.

Model United Nations/Debate from 2026 Website description: 

In **Week 1**: **The Art of Persuasion**, master public speaking and ironclad argumentation. Drawing on the same techniques used to coach students to national and world-level debate stages during their time at Brentwood, summer camp students will build skills that prepare them for the Camp Cup debate competition.

In **Week 2: Global Diplomacy**, step into the shoes of international delegates. Drawing on our delegation's award-winning success at the New York National MUN, delegates will negotiate treaties and solve international crises. Our scaffolded approach ensures that whether your child is a first-time speaker or an experienced debater, they are met with the right level of challenge, turning the world’s most important skills—listening, empathy, and eloquence—into the highlight of their summer.

# Cost

**Included:**  
Shared accommodations in a Brentwood College School boarding house, on-campus healthy meals, snacks, program fees, excursions, a coin-operated laundry (in house), and Wi-Fi access. Scheduled shuttle from YYJ or Swartz Bay, Victoria, to Brentwood. 

**Not included:**  
Transportation to Vancouver Island, travel documents, medical/travel insurance, spending money. We recommend students have access to CAD$300 \- $500 for personal spending.

**Study Permits/Visas**  
International students must ensure they have the required travel documents to enter Canada. Most students require either a temporary resident visa or electronic travel authorization. Please be aware that current visa processing times are longer than usual, and early applications are recommended. Refer to the IRCC website to determine which travel documentation you require. **Refund Policy:**

#### **All refund requests must be submitted via email to \[stacey.shrout@brentwood.ca\].**

* #### Prior to May 1: Full refund, minus a 10% administrative fee.

* #### May 1 – June 1: 50% refund (subject to a 50% administrative fee).

* #### After June 1: Non-refundable.

#### **International Student Visa Policy**

We understand that visa processing times can be unpredictable. If a participant’s Canadian Visa (IRCC) application is denied, a full refund (less administrative processing) will be granted under the following conditions:

* **Proof of Timely Submission:** The visa application must have been officially submitted to IRCC **on or before March 15**.  
* **Documentation Required:** The official IRCC refusal letter, along with proof of original submission date, must be emailed to program leadership.  
* **Notification Deadline:** Visa status updates must be communicated to us **no later than June 1**.  
* *Note: Registrants who submitted their application before March 15 but have not received a visa decision by June 1 are eligible for a full refund upon request.*

#### **Attendance & Unused Services**

Tuition fees cover the full camp session. Prorated refunds or credits are **not available** for:

* Late arrivals or early departures  
* Absences due to illness or personal reasons  
* Unused meals, accommodations, or missed activities

#### **Code of Conduct & Dismissal**

Brentwood Summer Programs are dedicated to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

* Campers are expected to adhere to our **\[Code of Conduct TBC\]**.  
* If a camper exhibits behavior deemed inappropriate by program leadership, their participation may be suspended or terminated immediately.  
* **No refunds or credits** will be issued in the event of behavioral dismissal.

# Transportation

Campers must arrange their own travel to Vancouver Island. A complimentary scheduled shuttle from YYJ (Victoria International Airport) & Swartz Bay Ferry terminal in Victoria will be offered to Brentwood College School.

Please note that Vancouver Island is not located within the city of Vancouver.

Cost for medical transport from Ryan:  
Brentwood students for next year will be $90 for the first 3hrs and then $40/hr for any extra time on top of that for Cowichan medical appointments. Victoria medical appointments will be $120 for the first 3 hrs and $40/hr for extra. 

All other medical appointments outside of those areas will be straight $60/hr.

# Lodging

Brentwood College School’s modern campus is sheltered on the pristine coastline of Vancouver Island. Our 90-acre campus has over one kilometre of waterfront facing the Gulf Islands and stunning views of a snow-capped Mount Baker.

Dorm buildings are designed to support a sense of community and togetherness, for both our summer camp guests and students during the academic school year. They offer conveniences such as Wi\-Fi and comfortable furnishings, along with shared kitchen areas, flatscreens, and common areas for socializing with friends. Coin-operated laundry facilities are available for students to use at any time.

Each room has a twin XL bed (occasionally in bunk configuration) along with a desk and chair for each camper. Towels and bedding are provided during your stay.

#### **1\. Core Principles**

* **Respect for Others:** Treat fellow campers, staff, and campus facilities with kindness and consideration. Bullying, harassment, or exclusion based on race, gender, identity, or background will not be tolerated.  
* **Safety First:** Follow staff instructions, safety protocols, and BC emergency guidelines immediately and without exception.

#### **2\. Campus & Dormitory Rules**

* **Dorm Expectations:** Campers must remain in their assigned dorm rooms after final lights-out. Visiting dorm rooms assigned to another gender or age group is strictly prohibited.  
* **Property Boundaries:** Campers must stay within defined camp boundaries. Accessing restricted boarding school facilities, staff quarters, or off-limits wilderness trails without direct staff supervision is forbidden.  
* **Quiet Hours:** Respect designated quiet hours (**10:00 PM – 7:00 AM**) to ensure all campers receive adequate rest.

#### **3\. Banned Items & Zero-Tolerance Policies**

* **Substances:** Possession or use of alcohol, cannabis, tobacco, vaping products, or illicit substances is strictly prohibited. Under British Columbia law, legal ages for alcohol and cannabis are 19, and local vaping/tobacco laws strictly apply to youth under 19\.  
* **Dangerous Items:** Weapons, knives, fireworks, lighters, or matches are not permitted on campus.

#### **4\. Technology & Digital Citizenship**

* **Device Use:** Cell phones and personal electronics are permitted only during designated free-time blocks. Devices must be handed in or stored during scheduled activities, meals, and overnight hours.  
* **Privacy:** Capturing photos or videos inside dorm rooms, restrooms, or changing areas is strictly forbidden.

#### **5\. Waterfront & Environmental Stewardship**

* **Water Safety:** BC lakes and coastal waters require extra caution. Swimming or water activities are permitted only when a qualified lifeguard is actively on duty and staff are supervising.  
* **Leave No Trace:** Campers must respect the surrounding natural environment, dispose of garbage properly, and follow fire-safety regulations as posted by camp staff and BC Wildfire standards.

#### **6\. Discipline Policy**

Violations of this code will be handled based on severity:

* **Minor Offenses** (e.g., cell phone during activity, late to curfew): Verbal warning and review of expectations with staff.  
* **Moderate Offenses** (e.g., repeated curfew breach, property damage): Parent notification and loss of free-time privileges.  
* **Major Violations** (e.g., substance use, leaving campus boundaries, bullying/harassment): Immediate parent contact and potential dismissal from the camp program at the family's expense without a refund.
